Odyssey: A Journey to Self-Discovery

"Odyssey" is not just Odysseus' long journey home, but also a deep symbolic story about the human path. What do the sea and distant islands, the Cyclops, Sirens, Circe, and other characters Odysseus encounters symbolize? Why must the hero endure so many trials before finally returning to Ithaca? We will try to see Homer's poem not only as an ancient epic but also as every person's story, and together reflect on what "Odyssey" can mean to us today.
