OH LORD, VILNIUS! || A Play for the Family

The cellar is a cool place for those trying to hide from life. It is there, on the Small Stage of the 'Lėlės' Theatre, that a couple of slightly 'eccentric' cinder-folk meet the ruler of the virtual world – a boy who had a painful argument with his mother. This is a story about the search for truth and the necessity to talk, about how problems become solvable by expressing them and not running away from them. And alongside themes of loneliness, family, friendship, and mutual understanding, another narrative thread awaits – that of the best city in the world, Vilnius! Thanks to the cinder-folk who spent their lives in the cellar, we will get acquainted with the legends and stories of this land and encounter mysterious Vilnius creatures such as the master magician Tvardauskas and the Vilnius Basilisk... "Oh Lord, Vilnius!" marks the debut of actor and director Ainis Storpirštis on the 'Lėlės' theatre stage. It is also the artist's first attempt as a playwright. "I would like children, after leaving this play, to ask their parents about Vilnius. And for this play to be an impulse for them to spend time together, to talk," he states.
