PDM - White Rose 1113 - SODAS2123

Once, after playing the synthesizer, I realised that sound can take hold of your whole being: not only capture your attention, but also briefly draw you away from the all-enveloping restless noise so often broadcast by the outside world. In my creative practice I let the sonic material loop until something is heard that was present neither in the material itself nor in my thoughts. Those peculiar ghosts, mystical, poetic echoes of being, are what drive the work forward. "White Rose", a piece for synthesizer and piano from the album "Geographic States", is the one in which I still hear this method most clearly. The piano part emerged at the synthesizer's suggestion, long before Tomas played it; the mobile phone interference heard in the piece happened during the recording when a call came in from Lina. Including the piece on the album, I felt it held potential for new iterations in the future, and this concert is one of them. The programme will feature work already familiar to PDM listeners as well as pieces not yet heard, and some will be performed together with wonderful guests (names to be revealed soon).
