POLISH MUSIC CONCERT „ROADS TO FREEDOM“
The Polish music concert „Roads to Freedom“, featuring both renowned, acclaimed performers and young vocal talents, will present a uniquely fascinating programme of Polish composers' music. The concert programme will feature both well-known and rarely performed works for soloists and duets, as well as virtuosic piano pieces revealing the diversity of musical forms, styles and means of expression. The vocal programme, notable for its interesting combination of different voice types, will feature songs and arias from Polish operas by Jan Stefani, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Mieczysław Karłowicz and Karol Szymanowski. Well-known patriotic pieces, which the audience will be invited to sing along to, will also be performed. An additional highlight of the concert programme will be selected duets from Zygmunt Noskowski's „Songbook for Children“ („Śpiewnik dla dzieci“, 1890), written to words by Maria Konopnicka and based on Polish folk dance motifs. Melodic, heartfelt and simple, these pieces are an important lesson in patriotism and a testament to the strength of spirit that accompanied the fight for freedom and independence, passed down to future generations.
