Premiere for children: "Matilda"
Premiere! "Matilda" – a play for children based on Roald Dahl Wonderful news for audiences of the Raganiukė Theatre – we invite you to a new premiere for children! Based on the book "Matilda" by one of the most famous British children's writers of all time, Roald Dahl, this production charms and amuses while touching the deepest chords of the heart. Matilda is an exceptional girl: sensitive, extraordinarily clever, and devouring one book after another since the age of three! Sadly, her parents do not appreciate this at all – they believe books are rubbish and that Matilda herself is nothing but a burden. Things are no better at school – headmistress Kuoka enjoys frightening the children. The only one who supports Matilda is the gentle teacher Miss Meilutė. But when Kuoka wrongly accuses Matilda, a special power awakens inside the girl. Now she can not only play tricks on her parents, but also teach the real bullies a lesson! Why is "Matilda" worth seeing? An inspiring story about courage, intelligence and justice The play encourages children to believe in themselves, to fight for what is right and not to be afraid of being different. Plenty of humour, mischief and even a little magic! The spirit of Roald Dahl's writing on stage – witty, unexpected and great fun. A classic story for today's child "Matilda" is not only a literary classic, but also close to today's children who face injustice, misunderstanding or loneliness. A play for the whole family Both children and parents will enjoy it – everyone will find something to take away from this story. Director – L. Urbona. Costume designer – R.
