Premieres: Dalia Dėdinskaitė, Martin Sturfält

5th International Joseph Achron Music Festival PREMIERES Dalia DĖDINSKAITĖ (violin) Martin STURFÄLT (piano, Sweden) Programme: Joseph Achron – Sonata No. 2, Op. 45 Wilhelm Stenhammar – Sonata, Op. 19 Pēteris Vasks – “Little Summer Music” Rarely performed music often conceals remarkable discoveries. In this concert, one of Lithuania's most brilliant violinists, Dalia Dėdinskaitė, meets internationally acclaimed Swedish pianist Martin Sturfält, presenting a programme where Litvak memory, Swedish romanticism, and contemporary Baltic musical sensibility come together. Joseph Achron's Sonata No. 2 and Wilhelm Stenhammar's Sonata will be performed in Lithuania for the first time. These are two distinct yet compellingly expressive works for violin and piano. Achron's sonata weaves together virtuosity, emotional tension, and a vivid sense of inner drama – music that demands from its performers not only technical mastery but deep ensemble concentration. Stenhammar's sonata opens a different world: a broad romantic sweep, transparent lyricism, and the restrained yet profound emotional breath characteristic of Swedish music. The programme will also feature “Little Summer Music” by the internationally renowned Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks, dedicated to the composer's 80th anniversary. It is a luminous, meditative work, full of inspiration drawn from nature, silence, and inner peace. More information: https://achron.lt/koncertas-premjeros?view=all
