Remarkable Trees and Stones of Vilnius Tour

Vilnius is a special city where the urban fabric harmoniously merges with the natural environment. It's no coincidence that one of the values mentioned in the UNESCO nomination file is Vilnius's harmonious connection between the Old Town's naturally formed relief and its urban structure. In other words, human activity and the natural environment coexist in the city. I invite you to discover and observe objects of living and non-living nature in Vilnius. These are unique trees and stones that we might often pass by without noticing. Therefore, I invite you to walk through well-known or lesser-known places in Vilnius and pay attention to these natural objects. There will be quite a few of them (14 short stops), including the oldest trees of the Old Town, the most expensively insured tree, the story of the only tree in the Jewish ghetto, luxurious paving, a stumbling stone, an animal fossil in a church, and other fascinating objects. The route length is approximately 5 km (6,200 steps). I recommend wearing comfortable footwear. Start and end: Monument to Grand Duke Gediminas (Cathedral Square).
