SACRED MUSIC HOURS. 100 FACES OF THE ORGAN

BENAS JONUŠAS (organ) Inviting listeners into the colorful world of organ music, Benas Jonušas stands out with an equally colorful biography. His musical path spans different eras and experiences – from the sound of early music on historical instruments to spontaneous improvisation and sound experiments. Studies in Manchester, Salzburg, Vilnius, and currently at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Numerous performances on Lithuanian and international stages, in festivals and concert halls, as well as presentations of his own projects. However, numbers are not what matters most. In Jonušas' performances, one can feel a constant movement, a search, a desire to push boundaries. Under his hands, the organ is transformed – it surprises, captivates, and opens up new sonic horizons. Tonight's program is no exception. It features music from different eras and moods, but the key lies in the title of Naji Hakim's piece – "Jeg elsker den brogede verden" ("I love the colorful world"). This is exactly what this concert will be like – colorful, unexpected, revealing yet another face of organ music. The program includes Nicolaus Bruhns, Naji Hakim, Thomas Tallis, and others.
