SACRED MUSIC HOURS. A GIFT FROM BERLIN
Soloist SALOMĖJA PETRONYTĖ (soprano) Chamber Orchestra DA PONTE BERLIN (Germany) Artistic Director and Conductor TASSILO KAISER (Germany) A musical gift from Berlin at St. Casimir’s Church. The chamber orchestra Da Ponte Berlin, together with soprano Salomėja Petronytė, will unpack it before your eyes, inviting you to enjoy the splendor of the Baroque, the elegance of the Classics, and the clarity of elegiac melodies. The orchestra did not choose its name by accident – “da ponte” means “from the bridge” in Italian. It is an ensemble that connects different experiences, people, and traditions through music. Having built a bridge to Vilnius, the orchestra will meet Salomėja Petronytė on stage. The young-generation soprano is distinguished not only by her subtle musicality, but also by her bold relationship with contemporary music: she made her debut in the lead role of Bronius Kutavičius’ opera “The Thrush, the Green Bird”, participated in the internationally acclaimed opera-performance project “Sun & Sea”, with which she toured Europe, America, and Australia, and has initiated numerous premieres. And in this concert, the artists, joining their talents, will build a bridge straight to your hearts. On the program: Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Edvard Grieg, etc. Free admission
