SACRED MUSIC HOURS. CLOSING OF THE CYCLE

BALTIJOS GITARŲ KVARTETAS: ZIGMAS ČEPULĖNAS SERGEJ KRINICIN SAULIUS S.LIPČIUS CHRIS RUEBENS Organ: RENATA MARCINKUTĖ LESIEUR "A top-class classical music ensemble from Lithuania. Extraordinary sensitivity, unrestrained dynamics, and brilliant ensemble playing. Four guitars – one soul," is how the German press describes the Baltijos gitarų kvartetas. This, like many other compliments, exclamations of admiration, and standing ovations in the most prestigious concert halls, has been well earned. In the hands of these musicians, the guitar is no humble accompaniment: it speaks in complex polyphony, expressive melodies, brilliant passages, and sometimes seemingly unbelievable sound effects. Although it is customary to hear the organ in a church, which will be played in this concert by Prof. Renata Marcinkutė Lesieur, the members of the quartet remind us that the guitar's connection with sacred music is much deeper than it might seem at first glance: "The guitar is not a traditional church instrument, but it inherits the tradition of the lute, which is closely linked to early sacred music. The acoustics of the sanctuary give the instrument a different breath – the sound unfolds naturally, as if enveloping the listener. Therefore, we believe that this evening will be special not only for us, but also for the audience," say the performers. The magic of the sound of four guitars in the acoustics of St. Casimir's Church – an evening worthy of your collection of experiences. On the program: Eduardas Balsys, Edward Elgar, Faustas Latėnas, etc. Free admission
