Georgian National Ballet

Georgian National Ballet "Sukhishvili" | VILNIUS The legendary Georgian National Ballet "Sukhishvili" has been radiating art, inner strength, and unflagging stage energy for over 80 years. The first and original Georgian national dance ensemble – "The First and The Original" – has become a symbol of authentic Georgian culture, unparalleled worldwide. In 1945, Iliko and Nino Sukhishvili founded the Georgian National Ballet. Today, the ensemble is led by the third generation of the family – the founders' grandchildren, who cherish traditions and make "Sukhishvili" a true pride of the country's artistic and cultural heritage. Audiences in the USA, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, and many other countries await an exceptional program. It features the most striking performances from the ensemble's entire history: a synthesis of perfection and supreme mastery, which has become Georgia's calling card on international stages. Over eight decades, "Sukhishvili" has captivated the hearts of millions of spectators and performed in prestigious venues – from the "Metropolitan Opera" in New York to "La Scala" in Milan. Reviewers have called the ensemble "the eighth wonder of the world" ("The New York Times"), "a hurricane on stage" ("Daily Telegraph"), "energy that can bring the whole hall to its feet" ("Le Figaro"). All this testifies to one thing: "Sukhishvili" is a phenomenon without equal. The concert program is a true surge of emotions. Virtuosic men's dances with acrobatic elements, impressive jumps, and sword spins captivate the gaze, while women's parts enchant with grace and grandeur. One of the distinguishing features of the ensemble is the unique men's dance on tiptoes, which other performers simply cannot replicate. In addition to stunning dances, audiences will also see exceptional visuals: costumes made from natural fabrics, adorned with silk embroidery, sparkling stones, and metal details. A live orchestra creates an authentic world of sounds, utilizing national instruments.
