SAVIMYLA | "ne veltui nebenoriu gyvent" ø MUZIKOS RUDUO 2026

On October 3 at 7 PM, the contemporary Lithuanian music festival MUZIKOS RUDUO will take place at "Muzeoteka", the venue of the Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Film Museum, where the artist SAVIMYLA will invite audiences into an uneasy, open experience in a seated-concert format - the presentation of the debut album "ne veltui nebenoriu gyvent". In personal, at times vulgar and uncomfortably candid lyrics, the artist will sing about exaggerated masculinity. This will be the first opportunity to hear the artist's not-yet-released album live, and the first encounter with the "savimyla" persona of interdisciplinary artist Matas Petkūnas. The album was partly funded by AGATA. ___________________ ABOUT SAVIMYLA: SAVIMYLA is known on the Lithuanian music scene as a musical troublemaker, combining self-reflective lyrics and performance both on stage and off it. A typical listener might try to squeeze "savimyla" into the boxes of Lithuanian alternative, alt-pop, lo-fi or experimental country. However, acoustic guitar motifs combined with samples rooted in Lithuanian culture (e.g. "Kieša", "Antanas eina namo") and uncomfortably candid lyrics make that a difficult task. This unconventional approach to music turns "savimyla" into a phenomenon that critiques dogmas rooted in pop music which usually go unquestioned. ___________________ This year's festival theme is "Sonic Anthropology", and the axis uniting the programme is intersections: points of contact where different materials, ideas, experiences and ways of perceiving reality meet.
