Silver Crane Nights 2026
The summer film festival "Sidabrinės gervės naktys" (Silver Crane Nights) tours Lithuania with the nominated and award-winning films from the "Sidabrinė gervė 2026" (Silver Crane 2026) National Film Awards. The programme features feature-length, short, and student films. On 23 August 2026, the festival comes to Vilnius, to Vasaros terasa, for its third festival event. Venue: Vasaros terasa, Vilniaus g. 39, Vilnius Host: actress Sandra Daukšaitė-Petrulėnė. Programme: 6:00 PM doors open. 6:30 PM meet-and-greet with the evening’s guest. 7:00 PM film programme: 7:00–19:25 SŪKURYS (dir. Linas Žiūra, prod. Linas Žiūra, LMTA National Film School (KIMO)) Jonas and his girlfriend Nina arrive at a secluded homestead belonging to film director Rokas, where they are to shoot a film. As they spend time together, the line between work and personal life begins to blur; under one roof they cook, dance, go to the sauna, all while preparing for the film. As Nina’s relationship with director Rokas grows stronger, Jonas feels increasingly pushed aside. Tension builds as unspoken feelings between them drive them apart from one another. 7:25–9:00 PM KINŲ JŪRA (dir. Jurgis Matulevičius, prod. Ieva Černiauskaitė, Stasys Baltakis) Martial arts champion OSVALDAS (Marius Repšys) badly injures a girl in the street. He avoids a real sentence but is expelled from the sports federation. Osvaldas cannot come to terms with the idea that his career in the ring is over. Unable to travel and compete in the K-1 tournaments in Asia, where he is a star, he spends his days at a cheap Asian restaurant called "Kinų Jūra" (Chinese Sea), where he is taken in by the owner — the only friend he has left — JU-LONGAS (Jian Huang 黃健瑋). Attending court-ordered group psychotherapy sessions, Osvaldas meets SKAISTE (Severija Janušauskaitė), with whom he is smitten at first sight. It turns out, however, that she is a pop singer married to the well-known mafia boss TURISTAS (Vaidotas Martinaitis), to whom his friend Ju-Longas owes money. Separate events suddenly tie into a single knot. An illegal business turns out to have ensnared nearly everyone around Osvaldas. Yet, seeing the world through a hero’s eyes, Osvaldas views a distorted picture. Clinging to what he has at any cost, Osvaldas involuntarily turns to violence again — this time, not by accident.
