"IT'S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE" is a highly energetic and intense dance performance, saturated with meaning and movement – a rollercoaster ride through the amusement park of today's world, pervaded by a constant sense of apocalypse and absurdity.
Three dancers on stage travel from personal narratives towards a collective story, driven by a rhythm evoking a never-ending dance marathon. Progress, exhaustion, burnout, and unfulfilled promises of the future are the recurring motifs.
Choreographer Kotsali looks closely – but not without humour – at a society that exhausts itself through endless entertainment. The essential question lingering after the show: which way are we moving?
Chara Kotsali is an Athens-based choreographer, dancer, and teacher selected for Aerowaves Twenty24 and Twenty26 and Moving Balkans Platform 2026. Nominated for the Sadler's Wells Rose international prize "Bloom" for 2027.
