Sited Installation “444th Season”
“444th Season” is a weave of installations inhabiting the spaces of the Old Theatre of Vilnius – from the stage to the backstage and the building’s facade. Visitors are invited to move freely through a constellation of autonomous yet interconnected objects, experiencing the work without predetermined rules or time constraints. The project’s dramaturgy is built on two layers. The first draws on the theatre’s multifaceted history and opens space for diversity, multilingualism, and hidden traces of nature and culture. The second dramaturgical axis is rooted in the artist’s long-term research and an initiative to re-ecologise the theatre – inviting the elements of seasons and flowers back into the theatre space while raising the question of traditional anthropocentric ecology. The project “444th Season” was created in 2024–2025 during four visits to the Old Theatre of Vilnius across different seasons of the year. The work interweaves archival artefacts, local histories, and plants. The result is an installation-landscape composed of several scenes in which theatre, environment, and memory intertwine.
