Sounds Without Borders | A. Puplauskis, U. Dičiūnas, A. Bramo

At the Music Magic Club, the programme "Sounds Without Borders" will be presented by bassoonist Andrius Puplauskis, oboist Ugnius Dičiūnas and pianist Anastasija Bramo! The musicians will open the concert with Lithuanian accents – the vivid composition „Colors“ by Zita Bružaitė and the elegant Variations by Balys Dvarionas. The romantic, tranquil side of the evening will be opened by Robert Schumann’s Romances, followed by the entirely contrasting energy of André Previn’s trio. In the second part, Camille Saint-Saëns’s sonata will reveal the beauty of the bassoon and its rarely heard lyricism. This instrument is often associated with humour or character roles, yet in the sonata it speaks sensitively, nobly and with remarkable songfulness. Right after it, Osvaldas Balakauskas’s „Globe Suite“ will sketch the sonic landscapes of the four points of the world. The culmination of the evening will be Francis Poulenc’s trio – one of the most brilliant chamber-music masterpieces of the 20th century. It contains everything that makes this composer’s work so captivating: elegance, wit, gentle irony, lyricism and an undying energy of life. *** About the performers: Andrius Puplauskis – principal bassoonist of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, actively performing as a soloist and chamber musician and collaborating with various ensembles.
