Speed dating (lit. "Quick Date") is a dating event designed for busy, hardworking people who don't have much time to search for a partner. The goal of this evening is to provide an opportunity to meet as many interesting people as possible. The event usually involves an equal number of men and women of similar age. You interact with one participant for just 4 minutes; when the signal sounds, you move on to the next, and so on. After each new acquaintance, each participant marks on a special card whether they would like to meet that person again. "Yes" means that this is someone you enjoyed interacting with and would like to meet again in the future. The organizers compile the results within a few hours, and participants who both said "Yes" to each other receive each other's contact information.
