One day, in a grey apartment building, the TV announces the arrival of the coronavirus and quarantine. The doors of all the apartments close, and life seems to stop. But does it really? Behind all those doors, residents continue their ordinary yet extraordinary daily lives! Lapiščiunksibantis the cockroach, unconstrained by any quarantine restrictions, embarks on a journey to meet the inhabitants of his native building and find a happy home. The goal of his quest, at first glance, seems quite simple. But first, the cockroach will need to figure out what happiness truly is.

"As soon as I got my hands on the manuscript of Vaiva Rykštaitė's upcoming book 'BAISIAU UŽ TARAKONĄ', it was immediately clear that to adapt this work for the theatre stage, an original form would be needed. The hand shadow theatre 'Budrugana Lietuva' was a perfect fit! The creative process of the play reminded me of childhood games with a desk lamp and shadows on the wall, and the final result, thanks to very diligent and talented actors, navigates somewhere between a play and animation," says the play's director, Sigita Pikturnaitė.

This playful and philosophical performance, based on writer Vaiva Rykštaitė's children's book 'BAISIAU UŽ TARAKONĄ', is perfect for the whole family. The cockroach hero, leading viewers through different apartments and introducing them to their residents, will raise questions on themes such as loneliness, isolation, ageism, and addictions, leaving space for the audience to find their own answers to pressing questions. The play is recommended for children aged 5 to 99.
