Theatrical Performances “Embodying Music” | Dominyka Šeibok
Opera singers have been using their bodies as instruments for centuries. In the world of instrumentalists, however, this remains a rarity. Dominyka Šeibok is an exception. This exceptionally versatile artist, flutist, and project creator has repeatedly captivated the audience at the Muzikos magijos klubas with both her profound classical music concerts and unexpected performances. This time, she returns with a unique project, “Embodied Music”, where she will break boundaries and prove that an instrument is only a fraction of what a performer can express on stage. The program features a theatrical interpretation of Schubert’s “Ständchen”, where Dominyka joins forces with pianist Simona Zajančauskaitė and percussionist Džiugas Daugirda. Later, she will perform Debussy’s “Syrinx” entirely without the instrument itself—recreating it solely through facial expressions, voice, and hand gestures. The evening will culminate in a theatrical free improvisation—a unique, long-matured style developed by Dominyka herself, which feels like an entirely separate genre of art.
