The Code of Laurynas Gucevičius

In 1769, a collapsing tower destroyed one of the two most fragile works by Johann Christoph Glaubitz, a virtuoso of the Vilnius Baroque school, bringing the Baroque era in the Vilnius Castles to an end. It was replaced by a fashionable new style – Classicism, with the Vilnius Cathedral as its centerpiece. The Cathedral has stood externally unchanged for more than 200 years.
