The Horn of Salvation | Vilnius Shalom Festival 2026 On September 17 at 7:00 PM , as Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) approaches, the Vilnius Shalom Festival invites you to St. Catherine's Church for the special concert "The Horn of Salvation" , bringing together the sound of the shofar, symphonic music, and the rich tradition of Jewish music. The program will be performed by: St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (Artistic Director and Chief Conductor: Modestas Barkauskas) Bar Zemach – French horn, shofar (Israel/Germany) Diana Harutyunyan – soprano (Armenia) Petras Kisielius – clarinet Tadas Daujotas – shofars The concert program will feature traditional Jewish music as well as works by Amir Spielman , Ofer Ben-Amots , Lev Kogan , and Max Bruch . Throughout the evening, the ancient sound of the shofar will blend with the rich sonority of the chamber orchestra, inviting the audience on a musical journey that speaks of faith, hope, salvation, and spiritual renewal. The approaching Yom Kippur , the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, lends special significance to the concert. It is a time of reflection, repentance, reconciliation, and spiritual renewal, making the voice of the shofar especially meaningful. Admission is free.
