The Language of World Dances | Lija Netuk, Polina Chistova and Nahee Shin
Three talented musicians present the program "The Language of World Dances", revealing the charm of 20th-century traditional dances and folk music. At the concert "The Language of World Dances" we will have the opportunity to enjoy works from Hungary, Brazil, Czech Republic, Poland, South Korea and the USA, highlighting traditional dances and folk music! The concert will open with Béla Bartók's "Romanian Folk Dances", followed by Heitor Villa-Lobos' duet for flute and cello "Assobio a Jato", movements from Erwin Schulhoff's violin sonata, and a piece for solo flute by Krzysztof Zgraja. After the interval – Mieczysław Weinberg's preludes for cello, Han-Ki Kim's suite "Korean Simple Suite", and the programme will close with Edgar Girtain's trio for flute, violin and cello. "In this colourful musical 'tapestry', not only European but also Korean musical elements intertwine. Not all the works will be familiar to the audience – many of them are rarely performed – but all are highly interesting and truly worth discovering", says Nahee Shin. The programme will be performed by violinist Lija Netuk , flautist Polina Chistova and cellist Nahee Shin . During the evening the musicians will briefly introduce the works and composers.
