Every time I sing in this musical, I feel like it's the first time – I relive this wonderful story again and again,” says Deividas Norvilas , who performs the roles of Quasimodo and Gringoire. „When I first heard „Notre-Dame de Paris,” I thought, blessed are those who can perform such beautiful music. At that time, the musical genre wasn't popular in Lithuania, so participating in such a project was more of a dream than a reality for me. Today, it has come true in abundance – I've been singing in this musical for 16 years. I'm very happy to have this opportunity, that the music can move not only my heart but also the hearts of fans of this genre!” says Raimondas Baranauskas , the star of „Notre-Dame de Paris.” Vaida Genytė , who creates the role of Fleur-de-Lys, feels very happy every time she sings in „Notre-Dame de Paris”: „The music and plot of this stage-concert production captivate everyone's hearts! It's no wonder it has been performed in Lithuania for 16 years. I am very happy to be part of this magnificent work!” The musical „Notre-Dame de Paris” is based on Victor Hugo's novel, which became a classic and was published in 1831. It is a story about the heart of the young gypsy Esmeralda, torn by love and passion, about the struggle between good and evil, about care and devotion, and the confrontation of pride and morality. Esmeralda's fate is tragic, but eternal love and pure feelings for her in the heart of the hunchbacked bell-ringer Quasimodo continue to smolder until the end of his life. Some interesting facts about the musical: – The musical was first performed in 1998 at the „Palais de Congrès” in Paris; – It was entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling musical – approximately 7 million copies were sold in French-speaking countries alone; – The main single from this work, „Belle” (Lith. „Beautiful”), which took the first place in the French music „Top 10,” stayed there for 33 weeks and was recognized as the most beautiful song created in 50 years; – The music was composed by one of France's most famous composers and performers, Richard Cocciante; – It is one of the most successful musicals, performed in over 20 countries, with over 5000 shows, and seen by over 15 million people; – The musical has been translated into 8 languages.
