THE ROAD OF FREEDOM: FROM THE BALTIC TO THE BLACK SEA

On August 23, 1939, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany redrew the map of Europe, unleashing a war that claimed countless lives, forcibly altered the political systems of states, and turned Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia into parts of a foreign body. After years of enduring occupation, together with our Baltic sisters, we finally resolved to draw our own line, which was meant to heal the wound inflicted by the criminal regimes of Stalin and Hitler. The Baltic Way was the phenomenon that united our desires and efforts to return to our rightful place in the world. The Lithuanian Centre for the Study of Freedom Fights, established by the Vytautas the Great War Museum, is organizing a discussion dedicated to the Baltic Way and Ukraine's Independence Day. On August 27, commemorating the Baltic Way, we invite you to a discussion at a place cherished by A. Kentra – Vilnius, Totorių St. 9 / Labdarių St. 10. The event is free of charge, we look forward to seeing you! The event will be photographed and filmed. During the event, Member of Parliament Valdas Rakutis, Member of Parliament Darius Jakavičius, one of the organizers of the Baltic Way Angonita Rupšytė, and Member of Parliament Dovilė Šakalienė will share their memories and insights. The event will be moderated by Leonardas Augustis Location: Totorių St. 9/Labdarių St. 10
