The Tiger Lillies

Cabaret punks — The Tiger Lillies return to Lithuania The Tiger Lillies are a British musical trio founded in 1989 by Martyn Jacques. Their music is often described as a unique blend of dark cabaret, punk rock, chanson, and opera elements, exploring macabre and melancholic themes through Jacques's distinctive falsetto and accordion sound. The group's theatrical performances have captivated audiences worldwide. In Lithuania, The Tiger Lillies will perform two concerts: on November 19 in Kaunas, at the newly reborn cultural venue Daina, and on November 20 in Vilnius, at the Keistuoliai Theatre. The legendary trio will present their latest album Serenade from the Sewer, which plunges into the darkest corners of human experience. The new album is based on Jacques's memories of the violent, turbulent Soho of the 1980s — a world marked by social inequality, poverty, drug trade, and constant danger. The main theme of many songs I have written is people living on the margins of society. When I moved to Soho in the eighties, I spent many hours simply looking out the window... Serenade from the Sewer captures some of those memories. It was a happy time for me, but a tragic one for many of the people I knew and watched from my window — shares Martyn Jacques. Longtime fans can expect spine-chilling ballads, cabaret theatricality, and unforgettable performances.
