Tour "A Man Between Worlds: The Life Story of Bronislovas Pilsudskis"

We invite you to discover the world-renowned most famous Lithuanian researcher of Ainu culture! Bronislovas Pilsudskis – a world-renowned researcher of Ainu culture and ethnographer – grew up in Vilnius, went to study in St. Petersburg, and ended up in exile on Sakhalin, where he met local peoples, including the Ainu. In the tour "A Man Between Worlds: The Life Story of Bronislovas Pilsudskis," you will learn about the circumstances under which he arrived there, what qualities helped him establish a connection with the local inhabitants, and how his life unfolded upon returning to Europe. The story of B. Pilsudskis' rebellious yet sensitive personality and life will be revealed not only by the exhibition exhibits but also by excerpts read by the guide from his teenage diary and letters to family and friends.
