Tour: Man Between Worlds: The Life Story of Bronislovas Pilsudskis

We invite you to learn about the world-renowned Lithuanian researcher of Ainu culture! Bronislovas Pilsudskis – a world-renowned researcher of Ainu culture and ethnographer – grew up in Vilnius, went to study in St. Petersburg, and ended up in exile on Sakhalin, where he became acquainted with local peoples, including the Ainu. In the tour "Man Between Worlds: The Life Story of Bronislovas Pilsudskis", you will learn about the circumstances under which he arrived there, what qualities helped him establish connections with the local inhabitants, and how his life unfolded upon his return to Europe. The story of B. Pilsudskis' rebellious yet sensitive personality and life will be revealed not only through exhibition exhibits but also through excerpts from his teenage diary and letters to family and friends, read by the guide.
