Tour of the exhibition "Superklijai, arba Sukurti draugą" with the curator and artists
As the exhibition "Superklijai, arba Sukurti draugą" counts its final days, on Friday, September 4, at 6 PM, the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) invites you to a guided tour of the exhibition with its curator Valentinas Klimašauskas and the artists. The exhibition "Superklijai, arba Sukurti draugą" raises questions: what kind of glue could unite a fragmented society today? Is it still possible to create a relationship with the other? Is this one of the functions of contemporary art? Turning to historical and contemporary works, the exhibition reflects on the encounter with the other through different concepts of the other, the rise of the posthuman figure, and contemporary art itself as ultimately unknown, alien. During the tour, we will look at the exhibition from the perspectives of the different people who created it. The curator will explain how the exhibition's idea was born and developed, what connections link the works meeting in it, and the artists will present their works, reveal the circumstances of their creation, and share insights into their creative practices. This is an opportunity to hear firsthand the stories of the exhibition and its individual works, ask questions, and together consider what can help create a relationship with the other today – be it a person, an artwork, or contemporary art itself. Artists participating in the tour: Artūras Raila, Jurga Šarapova, Jūratė Kazakevičiūtė, Danas Aleksa, Janina Sabaliauskaitė, Katsiaryna Miats, Pakui Hardware, Saskia Fischer, Eglė Rakauskaitė, Volungė Aušra Griškonytė, Tomas Martišauskis The tour will be held in Lithuanian.
