Tour "Shalom, Vilnius" and Litvak Breakfast

The "Shalom, Vilnius" tour tells stories about the daily life of Vilnius Jews in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, complete with a Litvak breakfast at the "Baleboste" cafe. We will begin our urban exploration with a Litvak breakfast (a set of spreads + a bagel + fruit compote). The breakfast price is 12 Eur. The tour and its stories start at "Baleboste" – a kosher-style food restaurant, where we will taste traditional spreads of different flavors and the world's most delicious Litvak bagel, all made according to the authentic family recipes of Riva, the kitchen hostess (Yiddish - "balebos"). During the tasting, you will learn more about kosher eating and the journey of the Litvak bagel from Lithuania to America and back. After eating, we will walk through the winding streets of the Old Town. We will talk about the different professions, personalities, businesses, community legends, hardships, and joys of Vilnius Jews before World War II. We will also explore the Memorial Stones, which we sometimes don't even notice as we walk through the streets of Vilnius. Together, we will try to understand how much of the daily life of old Vilnius fit into a couple of small quarters and how the people who lived there were similar to each of us.🕵️ Like all our urban explorations, this one is also spiced with interactive game elements.
