Tour: Vilnius's Remarkable Trees and Stones

Vilnius is a special city where the urban fabric blends harmoniously with the natural environment. It's no coincidence that one of the values noted in Vilnius's UNESCO nomination file is the harmonious relationship between the Old Town's naturally formed terrain and its urban structure. In other words, human activity and the natural environment coexist in this city. I invite you to search for and take note of the objects of living and non-living nature in Vilnius. These are unique trees and stones that we may often walk past without paying attention. So I invite you to take a walk through well-known and lesser-known parts of Vilnius and pay attention to natural objects. And there will be quite a few of them (14 short stops). Where the Old Town's oldest trees grow, the most expensively insured tree, what we know about the only tree in the Jewish ghetto, luxurious paving stones, a stumbling stone, an animal fossil in a church, and other objects. Route length – about 5 km, 6,200 steps. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Start and finish: the monument to Grand Duke Gediminas (Cathedral Square)
