Tour: "Witchcraft in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Castle Warden's House" | Museum Night LNM 2026
Witches, spells, and mysterious trials are not just a matter of dark fairy tales. On this tour, you will journey from the Inquisition chambers of medieval Europe to the cellars of Vilnius, where people's fates were decided. You will learn how witchcraft cases shaped the society of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (LDK), and why the Castle Warden's House holds more secrets than meets the eye. The tour will consist of three parts. In the cellars, you will hear about witchcraft in Europe and specific LDK cases: you will find out who was accused and how the trials proceeded in the Castle Warden's court. You will visit exclusive spaces: the mysterious Sigismund Augustus Corridor, the magical Tvardovsky Tower, and an exclusive exit to Gediminas Hill with a panoramic view of Vilnius. In the exhibition, you will see exhibits related to witchcraft in the LDK.
