Unseen Southern Vilnius – Through the Train Window
Along the southern outskirts of Vilnius and even beyond its administrative boundaries, there's a railway where passenger trains are never seen – it's the southern bypass of the capital, used only by freight. This excursion is a unique opportunity for passengers to experience the tracks stretching through remote, yet no less interesting areas. During the excursion, we will roll from Vilnius Station past Paneriai, Juodšiliai, Nemėžis, Kyviškės, and Naujoji Vilnia, while accompanying guides will share the most interesting stories about the places we pass. Participants will hear important historical facts, colorful legends, and learn about the railway's significance to the surrounding settlements, all illustrated by unusual views from the train window. The route is circular, so after circling the southern part of the city, we will return to Vilnius Station. The excursion is paid – a ticket must be purchased. The number of places is limited. Duration – about 1.5–2 hours. No stops or disembarkations are planned on this route. Address: Vilnius Railway Station (Geležinkelio St. 16, Vilnius). The platform and track will be indicated on the information board. ATTENTION! We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of the excursion. Please do not be late. The train operates on a strictly defined schedule – if you are late, it will not be possible to join the excursion. Tickets for latecomers are non-transferable and non-refundable. During the event, filming and photography may take place, and the material will be used on the social networks of LTG group companies and distributed to the media. By participating in the event, the participant confirms that they have familiarized themselves with this condition.
