🔎 What interesting stories have the streets and courtyards on the other bank of the Vilnelė river accumulated over the centuries? Užupis is said to be Vilnius' oldest suburb. In the past, mills operated here by the river, and the looms and tools of artisans rumbled; today, it is an independent RES PUBLIKA, bustling with artists and the ideas of free people.💬 The "Užupis' Crosscurrents" tour is an urban exploration of Užupis' written and unwritten stories, which we will seek on bridges, in courtyards, on streets, in sculptures, in wall paintings, and in people's memories. It's an introduction to Užupis' most important places, events, people, and most interesting stories. It's also an encounter with the different faces of this artistic republic and their exploration through the curious gaze of urban explorers.🎨 As we explore the city, we will examine the artistic, ideological, vibrant, and faded symbols of Užupis. We will try to find out what kind of people created and continue to create those untamed gusts of crosscurrents, so that ideas never stop flowing through the streets of the district. We will rediscover familiar Užupis places – playfully exploring the artworks and immortalized people within them.
