VeloCX International CX Race – Day 1/Day 2

On October 17–18, the Žirmūnai beach meadow in Vilnius (Neries St.) will host the „VeloCX International CX Race” – an international cyclocross competition included in the C2 category of the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar. Over two days, cyclists from Lithuania and abroad will compete in the capital, earning international UCI points for their results. Cyclocross is an autumn and winter cycling discipline where riders compete on a short, closed circuit featuring sand, mud, sharp turns, stairs, and obstacles that must be overcome by carrying the bike on one's shoulder. The circuit is short, allowing spectators to see almost the entire course from one spot, and athletes pass by every few minutes – making it one of the most spectator-friendly cycling sports. Separate races with their own winners will take place on both days. Alongside the UCI program, which includes elite men's and women's as well as youth categories, amateur and children's rides are also planned – everyone is invited to try cyclocross, regardless of their preparation. The event is free for spectators and family-friendly. The organizer is Public Institution „Dviračių kroso CX federacija” (VeloCX), which has been organizing the Lithuanian cyclocross series „Mastering the Mud” since 2021.
