Vilnius Shalom Festival 2026 From September 13 to October 7, 2026, Vilnius will host the third international Jewish music and culture festival "Vilnius Shalom Festival" – one of the most significant Jewish cultural events in the Baltic region. The month-long festival program will combine classical, klezmer, and jazz concerts of the highest artistic level, educational events, and the "Shofar March" – a symbolic procession of unity, peace, and remembrance – which is unparalleled in the region. This unique event, commemorating the Hebrew New Year – Rosh Hashanah, gathers hundreds of participants from Lithuania and abroad in Vilnius for the third consecutive year. The festival will feature performances by the renowned Israeli horn player and shofar virtuoso Bar Zemach, the Polish ensemble YAEL, the Lithuanian Symphony Orchestra conducted by guest Micha David (Israel), the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and other artists from Lithuania and abroad. During the festival, the string quartet "Mettis" and pianist Vytis Šakūras will present a concert dedicated to the 70th birthday of composer Faustas Latėnas. Additionally, commemorating the Lithuanian Jewish Genocide Day, tenor Rafailas Karpis, Armenian soprano Diana Harutyunyan, and a chamber ensemble will perform a poignant program dedicated to Holocaust remembrance. The festival's culmination will be the "October Jazz Ensemble," an international jazz collective specially formed for this occasion, which will hold a closing concert on October 7 at the LVSO Concert Hall, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the October 7th terror. The ensemble will bring together performers and composers from Lithuania, Israel, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Italy, Armenia, Argentina, and the USA. "Vilnius Shalom Festival" aims not only to present the rich heritage of Jewish music and culture but also to strengthen cultural dialogue, foster historical memory, and build bridges of friendship between Lithuania, Israel, and other countries worldwide.
