WHY AM I HERE? | A Sensory Performance in the Dark

Naujasis teatras presents! A sensory performance in the dark: "Why Am I Here?" Director: Šviesa ŠULC Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours We invite you to a date with yourself, to discover light and colors in the dark, and music and sounds in silence. The sensory performance "Why Am I Here?" is an interactive show presented in complete darkness, where you, the audience, will participate alongside the actors. You will experience the performance not through sight, but by relying on your other senses: hearing, taste, smell, touch, and intuition. This time will be full of discoveries and new experiences for you. Here, you can dare to be yourself, without judgment or observation. By freeing yourself and stepping into the role of a sightless person, you will feel what it's like to perceive the world without 80% of the information about reality that sight provides. During the performance, audience-participants in complete darkness enjoy tea, listen to piano sounds, and even create their own music. We often fail to fully recognize our other senses due to an over-reliance on visuals. With touch alone, audience members will identify objects and their textures, awakening memories and overcoming imagined fears. The performance features a wide variety of sounds, ranging from nature to classical compositions, creating different moods. "Why Am I Here?" is a spiritual journey during which audience members encounter themselves. You need to close your eyes to truly see.
