A Hike Through Šeškinė

All the praise for Vilnius' beauty usually goes to the city center, Old Town, Antakalnis, and Žvėrynas. But is there truly nothing charming in the Soviet-era block districts? I invite you on July 30th for a hike – I'll do my best to awaken your love for even these often-overlooked neighborhoods. This first hike will take us through Šeškinė, a district mentioned in historical sources as early as 1390, whose hills were once important defensive points for Vilnius. During the hike, we will: • Search for real art in the district • Learn what distinguishes the old and new parts of Šeškinė • Discover where the first store in Vilnius with shopping carts was located • Notice many unseen details that create the district's unique character 📅 Date: July 30, 6:00 PM 📍 Location: Rygos bus stop (on the Šeškinė side) 🚶‍♀️ Walk: Approximately 10 km, lasting 2.5–3 hours.
