Walking Tour of Soviet and Modern Lazdynai

Even if you have lived in Lazdynai for a long time, you have probably never walked around the district paying close attention to and understanding every detail. Lazdynai was designed with a deep love for nature and a visionary outlook. Although built during the Soviet era, it is truly admirable and full of surprising corners. This tour requires some stamina—we will walk a lot and learn a lot. On July 2 at 6:00 PM, I invite you to a 2.5-hour walking tour where we will: - discover the birth and vision of Lazdynai, which earned the district the prestigious Lenin Prize; - hear the stories behind the sculptures that did not appear in this district by accident; - feel how the architects designed the neighborhood, inspired by the natural terrain; - walk over 10,000 steps, venturing into groves, paths, and scenic viewpoints; - learn details that even the residents of Lazdynai themselves often miss. It will be a cozy, engaging, and informative walk, perfect for both history buffs and those wishing to rediscover Vilnius. We will meet by the "Rytas" horse sculpture, located directly opposite the Maxima supermarket at Architektų St. 152.
