Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights
The Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, known as the KGB Museum, is located in the basement of the former Soviet security service building near Lukiškės Square. Thousands of Lithuanians were interrogated, tortured and executed in this building. The museum documents the history of Soviet and Nazi occupation, partisan resistance, and deportations. The KGB interrogation cells and execution sites in the basement are particularly poignant. It is one of the most impactful sites in Vilnius.
