This guide compares three established hotels in Vilnius Old Town: PACAI, Grand Hotel Vilnius and Stikliai. They offer different settings within the same walkable part of the city. The selection is based on location, building character and information available from the operators, not an objective ranking, a review of every luxury hotel or a claim that we personally tested each stay.

Hotel PACAI: a historic palace near Town Hall Square
PACAI is at Didžioji g. 7. Its official history describes a restored 17th-century mansion combined with contemporary design, and 104 rooms and suites. The historic building and courtyard are useful reasons to put it on a shortlist if architecture matters to your stay; they do not mean every room has the same layout or view.
Use the operator’s room descriptions to compare categories before booking. Check the specific room size, bed arrangement and outlook, then compare rates with the same occupancy and cancellation conditions. Restaurant and spa reservations should be checked separately rather than assumed to be included in a room rate.
Planning your visit: PACAI suits a base around Town Hall Square and the southern part of Old Town. You can combine the area with Vilnius University and other city sights. If access to particular historic spaces is important, ask the hotel what is available to guests; a private building is not automatically open for an unguided tour.
Grand Hotel Vilnius: opposite Cathedral Square
The current name is Grand Hotel Vilnius, Curio Collection by Hilton. Hilton’s official page lists Universiteto g. 14, 93 rooms, two restaurants, an indoor pool, fitness centre and spa. It is opposite Cathedral Square. Use the current Hilton booking information rather than old Kempinski contact details.
Choosing a room: a Cathedral Square view or balcony is a room-category question, not a feature guaranteed by the hotel’s address. Read the category description and obtain confirmation if either is essential. Also check breakfast, spa access, parking and any extra charges in the rate you actually select.
Planning your visit: this location is a practical choice for an itinerary focused on Cathedral Square, the Palace of the Grand Dukes and the northern part of Old Town. Compare it with PACAI by your planned walks, not by a promise that one address is universally better. For airport travel, make a separate transport plan rather than assume a transfer is included.
Stikliai Hotel: a smaller base in the Glass Quarter
Stikliai’s address is Gaono g. 7, among the smaller streets of Old Town. Its Relais & Châteaux profile confirms membership, 41 rooms and suites, and the winter garden and courtyard setting. This makes it a smaller-scale alternative to the other two properties, not proof of a particular level of personal service.
The surrounding streets let you combine your stay with restaurants and shops. Plan any meal reservation separately. The hotel’s restaurant programme, menus and opening times should be checked for the day of your visit, especially if dining is the main reason for choosing it.
Choosing a room: the official profile distinguishes categories rather than presenting all rooms as equivalent: for example, Classic Double rooms are listed at 15–20 m² and Junior Suites at 45–55 m². Compare the actual category, occupancy and rate conditions. If lift access, a step-free route or a particular bathroom is essential, obtain a specific confirmation before booking.

For a fair comparison, use the same dates, number of guests and room category. Check whether breakfast, local taxes, parking and spa access are included; note the cancellation deadline and payment terms.
