Festival Closing Concert "Bridges Across the Atlantic: Lithuania and America"
The solemn festival closing concert "Bridges Across the Atlantic: Lithuania and America" is dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America's independence. This special evening will symbolically unite the cultural heritage of both countries and emphasize the long-standing friendship between Lithuania and the USA, based on shared values of democracy, creativity, and freedom.
The program will bring together music by Lithuanian and American composers – from the lyrical and colorful works of M. K. Čiurlionis, Juozas Pakalnis, and Balys Dvarionas to the vibrant opuses of George Gershwin, Amy Beach, Henry Cowell, and John Williams. The concert will be complemented by impressive works by Claude Debussy and Ferenc Liszt, as well as other composers, revealing the influence of European musical traditions on the cultural dialogue between both continents.
Twenty festival performers will appear on stage – young talents and professional musicians from various countries around the world. Their joint performance will not only be the culmination of the festival but also a vivid example of international cooperation.
The concert will symbolically conclude a week full of music, creativity, and cultural exchange, once again affirming the main mission of "Vivace Vilnius" – to create a space where music becomes a bridge between nations, generations, and different cultures of the world.
