Severija Žukauskytė, the artist behind the exhibition "Inner Relief", invites you to a workshop bridging the worlds of art and science at the Užupis Art Incubator Gallery.
During this creative workshop, participants are invited to explore the concept of identity through materiality, scale transformation, and observation. Natural objects or items of personal significance brought by participants will be analyzed under a microscope to discover invisible structures, rhythms, and visual layers.
The observed images will serve as a basis for individual interpretations and creative experiments reflecting on our relationship with the environment, memory, and identity.
Time: July 11, 18, and 25, from 14:00 to 16:00.
Duration: 2 hours.
Please note that photography will take place during the workshop, and the photos will be published.
More about the exhibition:
This is a visual research project exploring national identity as a multi-layered, dynamic, and constantly changing phenomenon.
The exhibition is based on microscopic images of Lithuanian rocks, which are transformed into textile patterns and woven on industrial Jacquard looms. By changing the scale, the geological fragments lose their immediate recognizability and reveal themselves as systems of rhythms, colors, and structures, inviting us to look at land, culture, and identity in a new way.
The exhibition combines artistic and scientific methods, using the earth as a conceptual basis for exploring deeper, often invisible layers of identity.
Rather than providing answers, the exhibition invites us to ask questions about what shapes us and how we understand our identity.
