In 2000, Canadian blues star Johnny V recorded an album with Latvian blues musicians, followed by a concert tour in Canada, which marked the beginning of the band. The band has performed in many countries, including not only Europe, but also the USA, Africa, and Asia. A particularly proud moment for the band was the invitation to the Chicago Blues Festival, where the Latvian Blues Band became the first European band to play at this festival in its entire history. In 2009, the band won a blues competition in Germany, securing a spot in the finals of the blues competition in Memphis, Tennessee. Many other awards, concert tours, and album releases followed.
