Poetic Visions: Vaida Kirvelytė (piano)

The NESSUN DORMA Night Concert Marathon Festival invites listeners to pianist Vaida Kirvelytė's recital "Poetic Visions" – a subtle journey into the world of romantic piano music, where natural imagery, memories, inner states, and poetry intertwine. The program will open with Robert Schumann's cycle "Forest Scenes" ("Waldszenen") – nine musical miniatures that reveal a romantic dialogue between nature and the human soul. Wandering through forest paths, the listener encounters lonely flowers, mysterious places, hunters, a prophetic bird, and finally reaches a quiet farewell. Later, Fryderyk Chopin's late waltzes and a mazurka will continue this journey in a different form – a world of memories, longing, and inner lyricism. This program is particularly close to the pianist's artistic nature. Vaida Kirvelytė's interpretations are described by educators and music authorities as poetic, spiritual, subtle, and full of tonal colors. Professor Mūza Rubackytė has emphasized her "subtle romantic perception of music, clear and precise pianism, and an aesthetic understanding of the work's spirit," while the legendary pianist Vera Gornostayeva highlighted her "poetic nature, spirituality, and vivid expression." Trained at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, the pianist studied at the P. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, later refining her skills in Munich, in the class of Professor Gerhard Oppitz. A laureate of international competitions, she has performed in Lithuania and abroad, participated in significant festivals, and today shares her experience with students at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. In the evening, "Poetic Visions" promises listeners not a display of virtuoso effects, but a sensitive and meaningful conversation through the language of music – one where Schumann's romantic visions and Chopin's lyrical memories merge into a cohesive poetic narrative. After the concert, listeners are invited to stay for the media opera "ČIURLIONIS: I SEE MUSIC" .
