Strung Out | Mindaugas Stumbras and Chris Ruebens

Last January, Chris Ruebens and Mindaugas Stumbras presented their new album and sheet music edition "Strung Out" at the Muzikos Magijos Klubas (Music Magic Club). This year, the guitarists return with a guitar duet concert that blends classical, jazz, and world music! The "Strung Out" concert features original compositions and special arrangements for the duo, inspired by Spanish, Brazilian, French, and classical music. Their program subtly blends tradition and modernity, delivered with mastery and creativity that showcases both the technical nuances and artistic expression of the guitar. As the musicians share, in this joint project they "aim not only to experiment but also to enrich the Lithuanian music scene with a fresh perspective on the art of guitar, creating an exceptional experience for both audiophiles and music lovers." Mindaugas Stumbras is a jazz guitarist who performs and composes both jazz and contemporary music. He is one of Lithuania's most promising jazz artists, actively performing on local and international jazz scenes. In recent years, Mindaugas has performed in many European countries, played at renowned jazz clubs, and participated in international jazz festivals. Mindaugas is a member of acclaimed groups such as Vilnius Jazz Young Power and the Kaunas Jazz Competition. He is also a laureate of the Lithuanian guitar competition "Gitarų Šėlsmas", and his compositions have been featured in the "Jazz from Lithuania" compilation released by the Lithuanian Jazz Federation. In 2022, Mindaugas and his group were awarded the Young Creator Prize by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania for their contribution to music. The work of guitarist, composer, and vocalist Chris Ruebens combines classical, jazz, and world music, creating a unique and bold sound. Performing with the Baltic Guitar Quartet and the Chris Ruebens Ensemble, the guitarist has traveled all over Europe.
