Tribes of the City + Dominyka Mauliūtė (Lizard Queen)

On Thursday, July 30, at 7 PM, Kirtimai Culture Centre will host a concert by "Tribes of the City," a shoegaze and dreampop band from Riga, combining these styles in their work. Guitarist and singer Dominyka Mauliūtė will perform before them. ____________________________ "Tribes of the City" is a shoegaze / dreampop band from Riga, Latvia. Since their formation in 2003, "Tribes of the City" has released five albums, won numerous Latvian music awards, and in 2020, they were awarded the prestigious "Austra" award for their album "Rust and Gold." This album was also nominated for the IMPALA "European Independent Album of the Year" award, and in 2026, the band released the album "Evidence of Embrace." https://tribesofthecity.bandcamp.com/album/evidence-of-embrace Dominyka Mauliūtė is a nineteen-year-old guitarist, singer, and composer. With over ten years of guitar playing experience, she has won numerous first places and "Grand Prix" awards in music competitions and festivals. Her electric guitar performance of Wes Montgomery's jazz piece "D-natural blues" quickly garnered several hundred thousand views, placing her on the map of promising young-generation musicians. Besides music, she is very interested in philosophy – in 2024, she became the first-place winner and gold medalist of the Lithuanian Philosophy Olympiad, and represented Lithuania at the International Philosophy Olympiad in Helsinki, where she earned an Honorable Mention award.
