Lithuanian National Museum of Art
The Lithuanian National Museum of Art (LNDM) is the largest art museum system in Lithuania, encompassing several buildings in Vilnius Old Town and its surroundings. The museum holds the country's richest art collections, from medieval sacred art to contemporary Lithuanian painting and sculpture. The main exhibition on Didžioji Street presents the development of Lithuanian art from the 19th century to the present. Visitors can see works by Čiurlionis's contemporaries, interwar modernists and post-war artists that reflect the search for national identity through art. The museum continuously expands its activities with educational programmes, lectures and residencies for young artists. Temporary international exhibitions also attract visitors from across Europe. Nearby, the National Museum of Lithuania completes the cultural tour. LNDM is an essential part of the cultural life of Vilnius Old Town , where art lovers find outstanding works and inspiration on every visit.
