Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum
The Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum is the only specialised museum of its kind in Lithuania, dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of performing arts, music and cinema. Located on Vilniaus Street in the Old Town and operating since 1978, it has accumulated unique artefacts connected to Lithuanian cultural history. The exhibition features theatre costumes, stage sets, posters, programme collections, antique musical instruments, sheet music, audio and video archives, cinema equipment and photographic collections. The museum preserves the memory of legendary Lithuanian theatre directors, cinema creators, actors and musicians whose names shaped Lithuanian culture in the 20th century. The museum is close to Castle Street and Town Hall Square . An excellent destination for those interested in Lithuanian cultural history and the traditions of Lithuanian theatre and cinema.
