MO Museum is one of Lithuania's most prominent private art museums, opened on 18 October 2018. It was founded on the personal initiative of scholars Danguolė and Viktoras Butkai, collecting and exhibiting modern and contemporary Lithuanian art from the 1960s to the present day. The collection comprises around 6,000 works and was granted national significance status in 2011.
The museum building was designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind — the first Studio Libeskind project in the Baltic States. It stands at the junction of Vilnius Old Town and New Town, conceived as cultural gates linking different eras of the city.
Beyond exhibitions, MO offers cinema, educational programmes, concerts and events for all age groups. The museum also features a café, a shop and a sculpture garden.
MO Museum is at Pylimo g. 17. Check the current exhibitions before visiting, as admission prices differ during exhibition changeovers. Standard admission is 5 EUR while the main exhibition is being changed; the regular standard ticket is 11 EUR. Published opening hours are 10:00 to 20:00, with the museum closed on Tuesdays and exceptions on public holidays. Use the museum's official website for the current programme and tickets.
