HOURS OF SACRED MUSIC. BETWEEN EARTH AND HEAVEN
KAROLINA JUODELYTĖ (organ, Germany/Lithuania) From a walk in Čiurlionis’ “In the Forest” to a flight into Zimmer’s Interstellar space. All this in a single concert, in a single program performed by Karolina Juodelytė. The internationally acclaimed performer is distinguished not only by her technical mastery, but also by her special relationship with the piece – her ability to reach its depths not only through emotion, but also through logical analysis. Actively performing throughout Europe, having played with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Dresden Philharmonic, Juodelytė currently continues her career in Berlin as the principal organist at the Bernhard Lichtenberg Parish and as a lecturer in organ performance. The program to be performed in Vilnius was born out of the artist's personal relationship with different musical worlds and an attempt to combine them: “For me, Čiurlionis’ ‘In the Forest’ is not just a walk in nature – there is always something intangible, almost cosmic, in his work. That is precisely why it is close to the world of Zimmer’s ‘Interstellar’ – both pieces speak of a space that is both here and somewhere beyond,” says the musician. For one evening, this space will open up under the vaults of St. Casimir's Church. On the program: Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Vidmantas Bartulis, Hans Zimmer, and others. Free admission
Adresas: Šv. Kazimiero bažnyčia
